PE and Sports Premium

The Government provides additional funding to primary schools through the Primary PE and Sport Premium to improve the quality of physical education and sport and to ensure that these improvements are sustainable over time. This funding is ring-fenced and is used exclusively to enhance PE and sporting provision across the school.

At Highfields Primary Academy, we use the Sport Premium to develop high-quality PE teaching, increase participation in physical activity, and broaden the range of sporting opportunities available to our pupils. Investment in staff training, resources and specialist support helps to ensure that all children can develop physical skills, confidence and a positive attitude towards sport and healthy lifestyles.

We are proud to offer a wide range of extra-curricular sports clubs across all year groups, alongside opportunities to take part in festivals, competitions and sporting events. These experiences encourage teamwork, resilience and enjoyment, while helping pupils to discover new interests and talents. We are also keen to inspire pupils further through enrichment opportunities, including trips and experiences that allow children to see sport performed at a professional level.

The impact of Sport Premium funding is reviewed regularly to ensure it continues to meet the needs of our pupils and supports long-term improvements in PE and sport at Highfields Primary Academy.
